USAID is the principal U.S. agency to extend assistance to countries recovering from disaster, trying to escape poverty, and engaging in democratic reforms.

Independent Colleges of Washington offers internship and career opportunities with Washington employers who support higher education.

InternshipPrograms.Com is an internship search engine powered by Post your resume on-line and search their database for internship opportunities.

The Philadelphia Center: Students from all majors may consider this structured internship program in Philadelphia with employers ranging from the Philadelphia Zoo to the Environmental Protection Agency, the District Attorney’s Office and more. As an intern, you’ll work four days a week in a well-supervised, unpaid position for academic credit. Philadelphia Center students are assured of receiving substantial work experience and exploring possible career options.

Employer Specific Internship Programs
Smithsonian Internship Opportunities: Internships are available year-round. Application materials are on-line. Functional areas of internships may include administration, research, outreach, and museum work.

National Institute of Health (NIH) offers summer research internships. Scholar (intern) bios, research descriptions, and application information is available.

Disney's College Program offers opportunities in hospitality, on-stage entertainment, operations, vacation planner, costumer, and more. Also available on the site is information about the “Disney Look”, housing, schedule, application.

Boeing Internship Program: This site provides general information about Boeing’s internship program including lists of targeted majors, desired skill sets, position descriptions, application information and more. Be sure to watch the CES calendar of events to see when Boeing will be coming to campus!

Arts and Entertainment
Entertainment Careers posts various internship and full-time job postings with networks, studios, TV and radio stations, and more including animation and broadcasting.

Alaska State Parks post Volunteer and Volunteer Internship information for the State of Alaska’s Department of Natural Resources Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation. Position descriptions, application information, and general resources are available.

Washington State Legislative Internship Program: Provides information and application materials for full-time, Spring semester internship. Details on finding Washington State legislators, legislative committees, and bill information also available.

U.S. Department of State manages several intern programs for students to gain experience in a foreign affairs environment through first-hand knowledge. This website provides details on both paid and unpaid opportunities along with application information.

The Fund for American Studies Internships sponsors Institutes that teach college students about the principles and values upon which the United States was founded. The Institutes are held in Washington, D.C. in partnership with Georgetown University.

Internships for International Students
Center for International Career Development is geared for International students. This site outlines training programs, international education and cultural exchange for international trainees and American companies. Includes information on J-1 Trainee Visa.

Public Service
Quaker Information Center Internships, Peace and Justice is a gateway to Quaker heritage and to modern Quakerism in Philadelphia and worldwide. This website provides links to a variety of opportunities to do volunteer service with Friends organizations.

Action without Borders: A full-time, internship and volunteer search engine for opportunities helps you find Non-Profit Organizations nationwide. Look for “My Idealist” to sign up to receive job notices via email message.

The National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation. This website provides links with contact information as well as basic application information.
