The Scientific and Romantic Revolutions

This course explores the causes and consequences of two decisive turning points in Western history - the Scientific Revolution of the early 17th Century, and the Romantic Movement of the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. The course examines these periods of upheaval in their social, political, economic, and philosophical, and aesthetic dimensions, and traces their legacies in contemporary Western cultures.

Prerequisites: Admission to the Honors Program.
