MUS 123

Discovering Music

Discovering Music is for those who love music, are interested in learning about music both in theory and in practice, and might wish to pursue further studies in music at the college level, but who cannot read music fluently and so are not ready to begin the music theory and aural skills sequence (MUS 101/103). Students discover music through active engagement including performance, improvisation, composition, conducting and other movement, close listening, leadership exercises, concertgoing, reading and discussion. Students should not take MUS 123 if they have taken MUS 101/103 or are currently enrolled in MUS 101/103.
