The course presents a rigorous treatment of the foundations of Euclidean geometry and an introduction to non-Euclidean geometry. The course emphasizes the axiomatic method and students are expected to do proofs. Students are introduced to the history of the discovery of non-Euclidean geometry. This course is especially recommended for prospective mathematics teachers.

Prerequisites: MATH 181 and 290 with a grade of C- or higher.
