Make the most of your time on campus and get an in-depth introduction to Puget Sound!
In addition to the two-hour information session and campus tours, prospective students have the choice to participate in several additional activities while visiting Puget Sound. These opportunities are offered during the academic year when classes are in session (late September to early May), excluding university breaks or holidays.
When registering, please select the activities you wish to experience as part of your visit. For planning purposes, we ask that you share with us your intended departure time and that you give yourself at least one additional hour for each individual activity.
Upon checking in, campus visitors will receive a customized itinerary with a personalized schedule and details about any class visits, interviews, and/or appointments. While we strive to accommodate all requests, we regret that we are unable to guarantee the availability of specific courses or athletic/academic appointments.
Questions? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 253.879.3211 Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time.
You've taken the time to learn about us, and we'd love to do the same! Sit down for a one-on-one conversation with an admission representative. It's a fantastic way to share more about yourself beyond your application and to pick our brains about academics and campus life at Puget Sound. Interviews are intended to be both informational and evaluative, but are optional and not required for admission. Not ready to interview yet? We offer off-campus and virtual interviews throughout the year, as well.
Interviews are available for juniors in the spring semester and for seniors and transfer students year round.
Students are welcome to request to sit in on a class during your visit to Puget Sound.
To help us plan for your visit, please be sure to indicate in your registration if you have a strict departure time. We recommend planning to spend at least one additional hour on campus in order to participate in a class visit. For the best possible experience, register for the 9 a.m. campus visit and plan to stay on campus until at least noon. We will select a recommended class as part of your itinerary based on your academic interests, travel plans, and course availability.
Given the small sizes of our classes, the number of prospective student visitors to each class is limited. We are unable to accommodate additional guests such as parents or family members and class visits are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Out of respect to the instructor and students in the class, we ask that student visitors arrive on time and stay for the duration of class. We kindly remind students to silence or turn off their cell phones.
High school seniors may spend the night in a residence hall with a current student host. Students register for an overnight visit scheduled for either the evening of, or day before, the campus tour. Check-in with the host takes place between 4 and 4:45 p.m., enjoy dinner in The Diner, and evening activities on campus. In the morning, breakfast is on us before you sit in on a class and participate in our information session and campus tours. We recommend bringing a sleeping bag, a pillow, towel, and toiletries and planning to arrive in the admission office between 4 and 4:45 p.m.
Overnight visits are offered Monday through Thursday, excluding final exam periods, holidays, and breaks.
Puget Sound is an NCAA Division III institution and member of the Northwest Conference, sponsoring 23 men's and women's varsity intercollegiate sports. Prospective student-athletes may request a meeting with a coach as part of a campus visit. Please note that we will make every effort to arrange an athletic appointment, but in rare cases, there may not be a representative available on the day of your visit. For more information about athletic recruitment, please visit the Puget Sound Athletics website.
In addition to class visits, prospective students may schedule a meeting with a professor in the department of their interest. Please note that we will make every effort to arrange an academic appointment, but in rare cases, there may not be a professor available on the day of your visit.
University of Puget Sound is one of the few liberal arts colleges in the nation (and the only one in the Pacific Northwest) to offer a full symphony orchestra, concert band, jazz band, opera and comprehensive choral program through our renowned School of Music.
The music tour, offered at noon most weekdays, will highlight our rehearsal and performance spaces. Students can also email Ryan Del Rosario '15, music admission coordinator, at email@example.com for information about meeting individually with a studio teacher or visiting an evening ensemble rehearsal.
Prospective students may request to have lunch in the Diner with a current student while on campus. This is a great opportunity to talk one-on-one with our students, and try out the food, as well! Lunch appointments are available most weekdays at 12 p.m.
To personalize your visit experience, we ask that you please register at least five days in advance of your scheduled visit date.
Please plan on arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your session in order to ensure that you receive a complete campus visit experience.
