Updates from the Admission Office

Information for applicants and prospective students about our response to COVID-19.

Last updated: May 7, 2020

As University of Puget Sound continues to follow the development and spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we have developed Frequently Asked Questions specific to the Office of Admission.

The Offices of Admission and Student Financial Services will be closed to the public, but our staff is working remotely and available to speak with prospective students and families. If you have questions, you can get in touch with us at 253.879.3211 or General updates and additional information can be found on the University webpage.

Decision Deadline Extended

We realize that current events have made the college search process challenging for many students and families. To give admitted undergraduate students the time to make an informed decision, we have extended our decision deadline for fall 2020 to June 1, 2020.

Prospective Student Visits and Events

At this time, we have canceled all admitted student events, daily information sessions and tours. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We are pleased to offer a variety of online options to learn more about Puget Sound:

  • Online information sessions: Join us on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Pacific Time or Thursdays at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time for a 45 minute live webinar led by admission counselors.
  • My Life as a Logger: Student-led Snapshot Tour: Join us online for a student-led snapshot tour of campus! Your tour guide will touch on important elements of the Logger experience, and illustrate these points with examples from their own time at Puget Sound.
  • Podcast: Listen and subscribe to our weekly series featuring in-depth conversations with members of the Puget Sound community.
  • Interactive virtual tour: Explore our 97-acre residential campus with 360-degree panoramic photos and a narration in English, Spanish, or Mandarin Chinese.

Students Impacted by School Closures

Please know that we will do everything we can to accommodate your individual circumstances during this time, as we know that much is beyond your control.

We will continue communicating proactively as this situation evolves, but as questions arise know that you can reach out to your admission counselor at any time. We will work one-on-one with you to respond to your situation as appropriate. Please be assured that disruptions to your education will not negatively impact your application and admitted students will not have their offers rescinded should they meet the expectations set forth by their schools to complete their high school diplomas.
