What’s your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus has to be Diversions Café. Our friendly student baristas serve some amazing Stumptown coffee and always greet you with a big smile.
Where do you like to eat in Tacoma?
Marcia’s Silver Spoon Café is a hidden treasure. This restaurant is tucked away a short drive south of campus but once found, is well worth the search. One reason I love this place is because when they bring your food, you quickly realize you’ll have enough leftover for at least one more meal – making Marcia’s the perfect place for a lazy Sunday.
What attractions should visitors be sure to see?
For indoor activities, I can’t recommend one of Tacoma’s many museums enough. But if you are outdoorsy like many Puget Sound students are, visit Point Defiance Park. Between the Zoo, the beach, the great hikes and the amazing view of Mt. Rainier, there is no better outdoor experience in the South Sound.
What do you like best about working in Admission?
Working in Admission is an amazing opportunity to connect with so many different students from a number of different backgrounds. Getting ready to make that courageous leap from high school to collegiate life can be the most exciting time in a young person’s life, but for others it can be a mixed bag. Being able to meet students where they are and support them through it all makes the work really rewarding.
