BLP Student Board

The role of the Business Leadership Program Student Advisory Board is to provide a communication link—the student's voice—between the business leadership program students and the program’s director. The board also leads BLP students’ engagement in community service, peer-mentoring, and social programming.  Please feel free to contact them.

2017-2018 Representatives

Senior Representatives

Anna Crean

I am from Seattle, Washington pursuing a B.A. in International Business Leadership and a minor in Mathematics (emphasis in statistics). I strive to bring a sense of curiosity and creativity to my academics as I apply concepts I learned in the classroom to professional opportunities in relationship sales or marketing. I've spent my college career developing my leadership skills through my involvement in Residence Life and Greek Life. Off campus, I can be found taking advantage of the Pacific Northwest's natural beauty by hiking, catching up on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, or planning my next trip abroad. I recently returned from a semester studying in Copenhagen, Denmark!

Maggie Van Weele

I'm a a Business Leadership and Environmental Policy and Decision Making double major. I am deeply interested in the future of environmental sustainability and the potential progressive intersections the subject holds concerning societies' processes and development. I take advantage of the natural beauty of Washington through hiking trips as frequently as I can. Here on campus I am a member of the Pi Beta Phi fraternity and am also a student manager at the Cellar. I have just returned from a semester abroad studying Environmental Studies in Copenhagen, Denmark. I had the opportunity to travel within Denmark and around Europe experiencing different cultures, and eating as much amazing food as I could.

Junior Representatives

Lucy Douglas

Hello fellow colleagues! My name is Lucy Douglas and I am from Issaquah, Washington (about 45 minutes north of campus). While at home I enjoy spending time with my two cats, Ally and Tom, and going out to the barn to ride my horse, Jake. On campus I am a member of the crew team and Alpha Phi Women's Fraternity. My love for business began when I joined a club during high school called DECA where students get together and compete at the area, state, and national level. I am looking forward to bringing my leadership skills from my experience with horse training, volunteer work, and as a representative of the class of 2019 last year to create an enriching and memorable year for everybody.

Collin Noble

Hi there! My name is Collin Noble and I am a junior from Boise, Idaho. I am pursuing a double major in the BLP and Economics and will be working as the Resident Assistant for our first-year BLP students. When I have free time, I enjoy finding new places to eat in Tacoma, running down to the waterfront, and reading novels. I am highly involved in student affairs on campus with my commitments ranging from having served as a student representative to the Board of Trustees, working as a finance manager for Student Life Operations, and sitting on the Student Affairs faculty committee. I have also had the opportunity to serve in ASUPS as a senator and on a number of committees. Outside of Puget Sound, I volunteer week at the Center for Dialog and Resolution (a local non-profit mediation center), following my phenomenal internship experience this past summer. I am excited for another year of learning in the classroom, growing out of the classroom, and representing the class of 2019!

While out of class, I work as a tour guide for the admissions office, participate in intramural volleyball and basketball, serve as a member of Phi Eta Sigma Honors Society and as a member of the sorority Pi Beta Phi. Off campus, I enjoy painting, paddle boarding, traveling, and spending time at the beach. I'm excited for a great year on the BLP Student Advisory Board!

Leslie Machabee

Hi! I’m Leslie and I’m a sophomore from Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition to my involvement in the Business Leadership Program, I am a student in the Honors program, a new member of the crew team, and a copy editor for the Trail. On a typical day here in Tacoma, you’ll find me studying with a hot cup of coffee in Oppenheimer, hitting the gym or the yoga mat, shopping for records with friends, or heading to Met Market for a cookie. I look forward to a positive and inspiring year on the BLP Student Advisory Board!
