Audition dates for incoming and returning students TBA



CHORAL ENSEMBLES

Adelphian Concert Choir, Dorian Singers, and Voci d’Amici

Please bring a prepared solo (art song, hymn, aria, folk song) if you have one. If you do not have a prepared solo there will be sample patriotic songs and hymns available to sing at the audition. Please arrive a little early so you can fill out a short information form about your schedule and the choirs you are interested in. Choral Audition FAQs  

Chorale
Audition not required: Attend first rehearsal at 4:00 p.m. (date TBA) in Kilworth Chapel.


STRINGS AND HARP

Symphony Orchestra
Please prepare a 5–7 minute solo (or excerpt of a solo) that best represents your current playing ability. You may be asked to sight-read as part of your audition.


WOODWINDS AND BRASS

Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra
The audition consists of two contrasting excerpts demonstrating both lyrical and technical ability, a chromatic scale (full range, slurred, ascending and descending), and sight-reading.

Concert Band
Audition not required: Attend first rehearsal at 5:45 p.m. (date TBA), Music L1.


PERCUSSION

Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra
The audition process is twofold. First, sign up for a “get to know you” interview with Dr. Morris. Second, all percussionists must attend a mandatory meeting and audition for ensemble placement. For audition requirements or percussion studio information, email Dr. Gerard Morris.

Concert Band
Audition not required: Attend first rehearsal at 5:45 p.m. (date TBA), Music L1.


JAZZ ORCHESTRA

The audition consists of two contrasting jazz excerpts, one fast and one slow. You will also be required to sight-read. If you are interested in improvising, be prepared to demonstrate your ability.
