On your lab day: Please remember to bring your lab goggles and lab notebook. Goggles are available at the UPS Bookstore. Lab notebooks are sold by our Department's Chapter of the Student American Chemical Society.

Dropping Chemistry Classes: Any student dropping a chemistry lab class who has an equipment drawer assigned to them and therefore an account with the Chemistry Storeroom, must first clear their account with the Storeroom (even if there is no breakage). First, clear your drawer through your instructor or CA -- see the handout "Checking-IN Of Your GENERAL CHEMISTRY Lab Drawer" or "Checking-IN Of Your ORGANIC CHEMISTRY Lab Drawer" for details. Next, turn in your inventory sheet to your CA

Drawer ID Tags: All Assigned (Checked-Out) Lab Drawers must be identified. Students must print their name on a piece of tape and put it on their lab drawer (including advanced labs and research). This lets us know which drawers have been assigned so no one else will claim your drawer.

Goggles: Goggles are required for all lab work and must be purchased by each student -- there are no loaning or borrowing of goggles. Goggles may be purchased at the UPS Bookstore. Without goggles, you may not do any lab work and must leave the lab.

Storeroom Hours: The storeroom is open from 1pm to 5pm Monday through Friday. The storeroom is not open in the mornings.

Safety Books: On reserve in the library are a number of safety books for student use. Also, there is a department safety library located in Room 367 (Mike's office). Under no circumstances will any safety book leave Room 367.

Lab Coats: Available at the UPS Bookstore.

Note: Only CA's and instructors are permitted inside the storeroom.

Chemicals: For independent projects & experiments, all chemicals must be acquired through your instructor or Mike. Please do not ask the student attendants in the storeroom or your CA: they can not help you.
