January 27-28, 2017
Puget Sound art history alumni offered a range of scholarly and professional expertise and experience at the first Art History Colloquium, attended by students, regional university faculty, and community members. Art History faculty Linda Williams, Kriszta Kotsis, and Zaixin Hong and emeritus professors Ronald Fields and Ili Nagy moderated panels that featured scholarly presentations and discussions by more than twenty of our department alumni who traveled from across the country to participate. From museum curators, archaeologists, professors of art history, and art appraisers to design professionals and computer programmers, alumni presented a range of professional trajectories that began with their art history degree. Keynote speaker, Carolyn Dean ‘80 (Professor, UC Santa Cruz) presented "Masonry and Meaning at Machu Picchu and Beyond," to a full house.
