Thinking About Law School?
Come to the 2019 Open Fair for Graduate Studies in Law
Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.,
Lower Marshall Hall, Wheelock Student Center
Students considering a career in law will have the chance to meet representatives from 15-20 law schools from across the country. Puget Sound Pre-law students, or students from any discipline interested in a legal career, are urged to attend this informative FREE event. Students from neighboring and regional colleges and universities are also encouraged to attend. Come, speak directly to Law School representatives and learn more about their schools, including their admission and financial aid processes.
More than 300 of Puget Sound’s current 2,500 undergraduate students expressed an interest in law when they were admitted to the university. Many continue their passion throughout their undergraduate education and Puget Sound graduates have, approximately, a 90% acceptance rate to law school.
While it may make some students anxious, the simple fact is that there is no “perfect” major for those contemplating the study of law. Accordingly, both the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) and The American Bar Association (ABA) advise students interested in law to pursue a rigorous undergraduate curriculum in an area of interest to them. Puget Sound’s liberal arts education, emphasizing analytical and problem-solving skills, critical reading and writing, and oral communication and research skills, provides an extremely strong foundation for many future law careers.
Puget sound provides pre-law advising resources to help students with the process of understanding, researching and applying to law school – a process that many students strategically undertake their junior year.
