Get Registration Ready with Academic Advising

First-year and transfer students are urged to attend the Registration Preparation Meetings (RPMs) to learn how to register themselves for Spring 2020 classes. Registration runs November 8 - 15. By now, you should have received an email from the Office of the Registrar with YOUR registration appointment time. You can also find this information on your MyPugetSound account (bottom left panel, select Registration and the Registration time).

Your academic peer advisors are here to get you...Registration Ready!

Attend the following two workshops: 1) PeopleSoft Mechanics Sessions: Designed to show you how to use the registration program (PeopleSoft) to search for and enroll in classes, 2) Advising Class Registration Preparation Meetings (RPMs): Enjoy FREE PIZZA as your peer advisor reviews what classes to take and how to design the perfect schedule. check your email for the invitation from your peer advisor.

Time to get...registration ready!

Attend BOTH of the following meetings and BRING YOUR LAPTOPS

1) PeopleSoft Mechanics Sessions- Oct. 24 and Oct. 28 - Oct. 30, 2019PeopleSoft Mechanics Schedule

Attend ANY one of the five sessions that teams of our academic peer advisors have scheduled to teach you all there is to know about using our registration software (PeopleSoft) to:

  • Locate your registration appointment time
  • Class search by term- Includes searching for cores and classes that spark your interest
  • Advanced class search function, such as finding courses that meet a specific core requirement [i.e. natural science core) and count for the KNOW requirement, or classes that only meet at a certain time or day of the week
  • Wait-list courses - Learn how to wait-list a class and set up the proper preferences to have the system automatically add you to the preferred class (and drop the less preferred class); 'manage my wait-list'
  • Permission codes and where to enter them
  • Enroll in classes from your shopping cart
  • Run and interpret your Academic Requirements Report to carefully track your graduation requirements and courses needed to complete your major(s)/minor(s)
  • Run a "What-if Report" to view the course requirements for any degree combination
  • Use curriculum guides to review the suggested plan of courses and requirements for any major
  • Clear any registration holds: Advising meeting hold, Terms & Conditions, Immunization, and financial holds
  • Helping first-year and transfer students prepare for Spring 2019 registration.
