Students engaging in research that involves the use of human participants are required to provide IRB-related approval as a component of their grant application. Please be aware that this process can take a month or longer, so students should plan accordingly. Students should work with their faculty project advisor to complete the process. For IRB committee information as well as meeting dates, please see the Institutional Review Board Web page.
- What type of review do I need?
Depending on the level of risk and type of participant, research studies are classified as needing full, expedited, or exempt review. A checklist is available to determine the type of review your study will require. - Preparing for IRB review
