Fears & Fables Night at the Museum

Fears & Fables Night at the Museum

Face the creatures (and plants and fungi) you fear! At FEARS & FABLES NIGHT, our spectacular UPS student docents reveal the science and lore surrounding certain Slater specimens: bats, owls, snakes, spiders, rats, wolves, wolverines, and other life forms you may have only encountered in nightmares or fairy tales. Come dressed in full creep mode, get your face painted, and meet some real live not-so-creepy creatures.

Kids' Craft - Make a spider out of a pinecone!

Specimen Preparation - As always, our Collections Manager will be turning dead animals into museum specimens. You can ask questions and get hands-on with his dissections and preparations.

Live Animals - Meet a bat, owl, and tarantula from the Point Defiance Zoo, and some frogs and toads from the Tacoma Nature Center.

This is a free, family-friendly, drop-in event!

Join us October 27th, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at the University of Puget Sound Campus (located at 1500 N Warner St, Tacoma, WA 98416) in Thompson Hall room 295.
