About the Summit
The Youth Summit has been a part of the Race and Pedagogy Institute (RPI) since 2010. It debuted as a part of the 2010 Race and Pedagogy National Conference (RPNC). The second Youth Summit occurred in 2012. In 2014 the Summit once again became a collaboration with RPNC. The Summit serves as a space for high school and middle school students to engage with the extensive topics of the Race and Pedagogy National Conference in an exciting and engaging space that inspires students to think critically about race. The Youth Summit Planning Committee is comprised of local area high school students, college students, and community members. The youth summit is designed for and by students to provide experiential learning.
