Writing Excellence Awards Entry Form

Thank you for submitting your work to the Writing Excellence competition! The purpose of the competition is to encourage and reward good writing in all disciplines at the University of Puget Sound.

Papers papers written for coursework for a single course at the University of Puget Sound during the calendar year 2020 are eligible. Shorter papers are as likely to win as longer ones. Students may submit only one paper per category.

Please submit two versions of the paper: the original paper with the professor’s comments and a clean copy with no comments. If your professor wrote comments electronically, then please attach the document as you received it from your professor. If your professor hand wrote comments, then please scan the document and attach it. There are scanners and student staff available to help you in the Media Center of the Library. If you feel uncomfortable doing the scanning yourself, you can bring the paper to Howarth 105 during our open office hours Mondays and Wednesdays 1:00-4:30 p.m., and we will be glad to help you as we have time. If you did not receive comments from their professor on their paper, you should reach out to their professor and ask for brief comments on positives and negatives of their paper before submitting.

The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021.

If you have any questions, please contact Leslie Saucedo at lsaucedo@pugetsound.edu. Thanks for your excellent writing!
