Collection Development


  • To attain a balanced collection that supports the total undergraduate education experience, as articulated primarily in the liberal arts curriculum.
  • To ensure the most needed materials are available in the library and for those that are not, to see that timely, affordable access is provided to the greatest degree possible.
  • To build a collection where the most appropriate and cost effective format is available for each type of item or tool.
