Interpreter Services

To request a sign language interpreter for a university event, please contact Disabilities Services at 253.879.2692 or disabilityservices@pugetsound.edu. Requests should be made at least one week prior to the event and should include:

  • a description of the event
  • date
  • time
  • location
  • approximate duration
  • and contact person.

Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance or the event will be held responsible for the cost of the sign language interpreter.

An interpreter needs to be located in a spot clearly visible to those using his or her services. If a chair is not already available in that spot, please locate one for the interpreter. If two interpreters are used, both will need seating convenient to switching off as they take turns.
