Little things add up to big change. Puget Sound has made big strides in institutional sustainability, and now were focusing on the little things that individuals can do to help us reach our common goal. Whether you choose to do one or all ten, it all adds up!

  1. LIGHTS OFF
    Save energy and turn off the lights when you leave.
  2. POWER DOWN
    Unplug power cords/set electronics to sleep when not in use.
  3. HEAT CHECK
    Check your heater. Contact your RA if it's not working properly.
  4. SAVE WATER
    Take shorter showers and turn off the tap when brushing your teeth.
  5. REFILL AND REUSE
    Washington water is safe and delicious. Refill at any tap or fountain.
  6. WASH FULL LOADS
    Use high-efficiency detergent and only wash/dry full loads.
  7. B.Y.O.C.
    Bring your own cup or mug and get a discount at campus dining locations.
  8. ORDER FOR HERE
    To reduce waste we serve on reusable dishes, unless you ask for paper.
  9. RECYCLE
    Learn what's trash and what's not. Look for recycling stations in all academic buildings and residence halls.
  10. TAKE THE BUS
    Free Orca Cards for bus, train, and ferry travel are available for students, or call 253.219.0516 for the Saturday Shuttle.
