When planning your walk to, from, or around campus, choose a route that is walker friendly. Look for roads with pedestrian trails, like the Mason Avenue pathway, and well-marked crosswalks. Whenever possible, avoid having to cross busy streets. When present, always activate the pedestrian crossing light at crosswalks. You may want to consider walking along a bus route, in case inclement weather forces you to seek an alternate commute mode. When it’s dark, wear light-colored or reflective clothing and clip a flashing LED light (available at Security Services) to your jacket or backpack for extra visibility.
