Printing from a laptop or other mobile device to any lab or classroom printer is now possible only by using vDesk (virtual Desktop).  Once in vDesk, printers which are nearby your physical location will automatically appear as options in the usual printer list for the software you are using.

Available Software

The following software programs and applications are installed on the machines. They can be accessed from the Start menu:

  • Word 2016

Word 2016 is the word processor application in Microsoft Office 2016. Word allows you to create, edit, and view documents.

  • PowerPoint 2016

PowerPoint is the presentation application in Microsoft Office 2016. PowerPoint slide presentations can be a useful visual counterpart to lectures and other presentations.

  • Excel 2016

Excel is the spreadsheet application in Microsoft Office 2016. Excel spreadsheets can be used for many things, including organizing, visualizing, and calculating data.

  • Foxit Reader

Foxit Reader is a PDF viewer. It allows you to create, open, view, and print any PDF file. Foxit Reader is notable for its short load time and small file size, and has been compared favorably to Adobe Reader.

  • SPSS 24

IBM® SPSS Statistics is leading statistical software used to solve a wide variety of business and research problems.

Find more software in the "vDesk Applications" folder under the Start menu or by logging into the Virtual Desktop.
