How does an Educational Technologist support faculty and students?

An Educational Technologist is passionate about solving creative pedagogical issues using technology in order to maximize student learning and help faculty grow in their teaching process.  We provide agile and customized support using research-based best practices to meet diverse campus needs in relation to curriculum creation, consulting with faculty on assignments, putting on class trainings, and faculty development.

As members of Technology Services, we have critical knowledge of how a technology fits into the university’s existing infrastructure.  We help evaluate and create lesson plans, choose and incorporate appropriate digital resources and tools, and evaluate a tool’s ability to meet learning goals. Methods like SAMR, TPACK, and the ISTE Standards guide how we support technology use in teaching and learning. Our group can help you make the best, most efficient technology choices to meet your learning objectives!
