Sunil Kukreja

Sunil Kukreja is interested in race relations, political economy, social change, and Southeast and South Asia. He has a special interest in race and inequality in Malaysia. He is editor-in-chief of the International Review of Modern Sociology and the International Journal of Sociology of the Family, and he serves on the board of directors of the Indian American Education Foundation. Kukreja is editor of State, Society, and Minorities in South and Southeast Asia (Lexington, 2015), which explores the marginalization and changing fortunes of ethnic and religious minorities in these regions.   He also was editor of Cross Cultural Studies on the Family (2006), which probes attitudes and behaviors of families in China, Malaysia, Mexico, Iran, Bangladesh, and the United States on issues ranging from marriage to care of the elderly. His book chapters include “The Development Conundrum,” in Introduction to International Political Economy, 5th Ed. (2010).
