Mathematics and Computer Science
James Bernhard has a variety of academic interests, including areas of theoretical mathematics, such as differential geometry and algebraic topology, as well as applied statistics. He teaches courses in these and other areas. He enjoys researching connections among seemingly unrelated topics, such as those between geometry and probability theory, given in his paper "The Geometry of Markov Chain Limit Theorems." Bernhard is also a composer of classical music.
