What institutions are in our comparison group?

Who are our peer institutions, and why were they chosen?

Puget Sound completed an analysis to create a refined peer group in 2013, with the goals of having a smaller group primarily calling upon comparable institutions (less aspirant institutions) and with whom we could easily exchange data. We also looked to include cross applicant schools. Further analysis revealed twenty institutions that were naturally situated close to Puget Sound when compared in a number of different indicators.

Why use a peer group?

Using a peer group allows Puget Sound to evaluate where we are situated in the market related to other similar institutions. These comparisons, in combination with evaluating trend data specific to Puget Sound, allows for a full picture of where we stand and is used to help inform decision making across the campus.
