Summer Conference Assistant
Student Worker Job Description
Works individually as well as with a team to meet the needs of conference groups. Follows instructions and guidelines set by the Manager of Conference Services. Receives additional direction from Conference Leads and Conference Coordinators. Summer Conference Assistants are key to daily management, leadership and operations of summer conferences at the University of Puget Sound. They assist with conference preparations, facilities management, administrative tasks, and guest relations.
This job contract is May 15 - August 11, 2017. Applicants must have basic computer skills and good phone etiquette. Must be detail-oriented, able to work both independently and as part of a team, and able to handle both compliments and complaints gracefully. Must be assertive as well as tactful, able to work under pressure and familiar with the campus and its facilities. Must be able to live on campus (free housing agreement with DCS). Must be flexible and able to work day, evening and weekend shifts.
Average Hours Per Week: 30 to 40
Starting Wage: $12.07
