Commuting Guests

Information regarding university policies, amenities and opportunities is available below. Contact for further questions.

In the event of an emergency, please call 253.879.3311 (security services) seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Internet Access
We offer free internet access for all guests attending conferences at the university. If you wish to connect a personal laptop computer to the campus network or you would like to use a computer in one of the labs on campus, contact the Conference Services office for login information (253.879.3483).

Applying to the University of Puget Sound
If you would like more information on University of Puget Sound we have several opportunities for you to find what you're looking for.

  • Stop by the Office of Admission in Jones, room 115, open all summer weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Student-led tours are available every hour on the hour from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Call 253.879.3211 with any questions.
  • At your last scheduled meal on campus, you will be given a Conference Services evaluation where you may request admission information on this form.

The University of Puget Sound has a student-managed coffee and espresso bar, Diversions Cafe, located in Wheelock Student Center. It is open weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Coffee, espresso drinks, Italian sodas and a variety of pastries are available for purchase daily.

If you are going to be a participant of a program and wish to receive mail during your program, it should have a clear return address and be addressed as follows:

Mail is delivered to the University of Puget Sound mailroom only Monday through Friday. Please allow an additional day for delivery over and above your expected delivery date. Once mail is received at the university, it will be delivered to the organizer of the program that you are attending for distribution. Items that arrive after a group's departure will be returned to the sender.

Meals are served in Wheelock Student Center, and are automatically provided to all group members who are staying in on campus residences. If you are commuting to the program, ask your program organizer if a meal plan has been set up for your program. If not, you may pay for individual meals at the door.

At the Diner, there are a variety of stations, including Chef's Table, Italian, Latin American, Asian, Allergy Friendly, the Grill, and the Deli. The diner also has a salad bar, fresh fruit, desserts, and beverages included in every meal. Most stations have vegetarian and gluten free options, and the Diner can accommodate almost all dietary restrictions. More information on dining may be found at our Meals page.

Breakfast is offered from 7 - 9 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., and dinner from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Only those guests 21 years of age and older are permitted to consume alcoholic beverages in private rooms of residences only. Alcoholic beverages may not be consumed in lounge areas of residence halls or anywhere else outside the residence halls, except in arranged program events.

There is no charge for parking on campus; however, we ask that you park only in marked stalls and not red fire lanes or yellow loading zones. Please secure your vehicle and remove all valuables.

Pets are not allowed in any buildings on campus, including residence halls. Animals that assist our disabled guests are the only exception to this policy.

The Aquatic Center is currently under construction and will be closed for Summer 2016. The Fitness Center is open weekdays 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and is available to any registered guest at no charge. A signed waiver is required for any person who wishes to use the Fitness Center, please contact Conference Services to obtain a pass and sign a waiver. Other facilities available for conference guests include a lighted running track, outdoor field space, and indoor basketball courts.

Conference Services cannot receive shipments or mail for any program earlier than two weeks prior to its arrival on campus. Due to limited storage space, shipments received more than two weeks in advance may have to be returned to the sender, and a handling fee may be assessed. All requirements listed in our shipping policy must be met by shippers.

Materials used to post or display any signs must be approved in advance by Conference Services. Our Posting & Decorating Policy outlines what materials may be used to post signs.

Smoking is not allowed in any campus buildings, including residence hall rooms, bathrooms and lounges.
