Melissa Clarke

Melissa Clarke joined the Community Music Department as Program Assistant in Fall 2013. She has a long association with Community Music and the University of Puget Sound. Melissa's children have been a part of Community Music's instructional programs for more than 21 years through their studies in violin, viola, cello, piano, and chamber music. Her eldest daughter is now a professional violinist. Her son is a cello student at the University of Washington. Her youngest daughter is a student at Tacoma School of the Arts and continues to focus on violin. Melissa herself studied classical piano for eleven years as a young person and then again as an adult at the Community Music Department. She has also worked for the department as a vocal and strings accompanist and pianist for the Suzuki violin program. Melissa is an alumna of Puget Sound who majored in Spanish language and literature. As a life-long resident of Washington State, she hails originally from the tiny town of Peshastin, located in the Wenatchee Valley.
