We asked Lindsay...

How would you describe your role and organization to a college student?
The STAR Institute has three arms- education, therapy, and research. My role is primarily with the non-profit pediatric therapy clinic for children with Sensory Processing Disorder. I treat children with SPD in a gym setting and get to have a lot of fun!

What can a student expect to experience by job shadowing you?
The STAR Institute is a world renowned clinic and you will be able to join therapists in their therapy sessions with children with SPD. You will see close up how fulfilling and rewarding it is to work with families.

Why do you want to host Logger Students?
I had an amazing mentor at Puget Sound, Ron Stone, that helped me on my path to find the little known career of occupational therapy. Most people I majored with became physical therapists and I am so thankful that Dr. Stone pointed me in the direction of OT. I get to use my interest in psychology and look at people in a more holistic way.
