We asked John...

How would you describe your role and organization to a college student?
My role in the City of Piedmont is to have my fingers in a bit of everything. As Assistant City Administrator, I am responsible for knowing what is going on in all departments and keeping the City Administrator advised of things he may not be aware of; among other tasks. As City Clerk, I am responsible for the production of agendas, minutes, and staff reports for the City Council. I am the City's elections official and records manager. I am also the City's Public Information Officer. My office is the main point of contact for City Hall.

What can a student expect to experience by job shadowing you?
A student shadowing me can learn about the day to day operations of a small, full service, local government.

Why do you want to host Logger Students?
I want to share my love for local government with as many loggers as I can, in the hopes that some might join me in public service!
