How would you describe your role and organization?

About Tableau:
Tableau helps people see and understand data. Offering a revolutionary new approach to business intelligence, Tableau allows you to quickly connect, visualize, and share data with a seamless experience from the PC to the iPad. Create and publish dashboards and share them with colleagues, partners, or customers—no programming skills required.

About Product Consulting:
Product Consultants are the de facto experts in Tableau's products. As a part of the sales team, we partner with Account Managers to help customers see how Tableau fits their needs. Product Consultants also deliver trainings and assist customers after purchase to ensure success with our software. Basically, we get to be technically savvy while engaging in sales dialogue with customers each and every day.

How would the skills and competencies gained through a liberal arts education be beneficial in the type of work you do?

In my role, we are consistently working with customers of all different levels and industries! A liberal arts education gives exposure to a variety of different subjects and individuals, and this exposure is a great thing to have in the software and product consulting world!

What can a student expect to experience by job shadowing you?

Our goal is to give students a well rounded experience of what it is like to work at Tableau! Students will meet Puget Sound alumni who work in a variety of different fields: Sales, Presales, Marketing, Development, and more!
