unNATURAL HISTORIES
Large & Small Galleries
unNATURAL HISTORIES is a group exhibition of works by artists utilizing materials and imagery from the natural world (animals, birds, fish, reptiles, and insects) in unexpected ways. Curated to foster dialogue between the arts and sciences, the show juxtaposes contemporary artworks with specimens from the university’s Puget Sound Museum of Natural History.
Exhibiting artists are John Byrd, Wayne Chabre, Justin Gibbens, Ford Gilbreath, Lauren Grossman, Carolyn Krieg, Hugh Lentz, Alan Moe, and Jim Rittimann.
This exhibit was co-curated by Esther Luttikhuizen, Director of Kittredge Gallery, and Peter Wimberger, Acting Director of the Puget Sound Museum of Natural History and Associate Professor of Biology at the University of Puget Sound.

Arthur S. Aubry & Subhankar Banerjee

A small collection of Subhankar Banerjee's photos of ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge) on loan from the Canadian Embassy. Juxtaposed with these will be color prints by Arthur S. Aubry (Seattle) that document, in a straight-forward but stunning manner, industrial detritus.

Any Puget Sound student who has taken a studio class in the Art Department during the past year is eligible to enter. Prizes donated by area businesses and museums will be awarded at the gala opening Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 5 p.m.
