Back up Entourage DataAlthough there are several ways to backup your data in Entourage, the method described below is recommended as it preserves the most data.
NOTE: This procedure backs up local data stored in the Folders on My Computer section (on the left hand side of the Entourage window), not your data on the Exchange server.
To backup your local Entourage data
- Exit Entourage if it is open.
- From your Desktop, double click on the hard drive icon and browse to the following path: \Documents\Microsoft User Data\Office 2004 Identities\
- If you are a single user and have never setup another Identity, you will normally just have a Main Identity folder. If you have setup additional Identities, you will also see their folders.

- Select the Identity folder you wish to backup and select the Edit > Copy menu option.
- Navigate to the location where you wish to save your backup (i.e. external hard drive, Alexandria or Merlin2) and then select the Edit > Paste menu option.
To restore your local Entourage data
- Exit Entourage if it is open.
- Navigate to the location where you saved your backup, select the folder and then select the Edit > Copy menu option.
- Double click on the hard drive on your Desktop and browse to Documents\Microsoft User Data\Office 2004 Identities\

- Select the Edit > Paste menu option. This will overwrite the existing data. If this is acceptable, Agree to any prompts to overwrite the data.
