Social Justice

Social justice is a process by which individuals create a just and humane world by sharing time based resources, reflecting on their role within a broader humanity and exploring systematic change through education and advocacy. The office of Spirituality, Service & Social Justice (SSSJ) provides opportunities for students to engage in social justice through service to others, self and group reflection, and education and advocacy. Participating in service, reflection and action through SSSJ is one way to work towards social justice. There are so many other ways to get involved in social justice around campus. Several of the ASUPS clubs and organizations are based in social action. SSSJ also works closely with Diversity and Multicultural Programs, which are committed to enhancing intercultural awareness and creating a learning environment in which the entire campus community feels welcomed and respected. Stop by the Wheelock Student Center 203 or visit MCSS to learn more.

Social Justice Coordinator Roman Christiaens works alongside students, staff and faculty to further the process of social justice. There are lots of exciting ways to get involved with social justice on campus. Drop by to meet our staff or email Roman to share your ideas and learn about resources.
