The 25th annual Winterfeast was held in celebration of the Center for Intercultural and Civic Engagement's mentoring program. Children involved with Kids Can Do! came with their families to share this fun-filled night and a traditional holiday feast with their mentors.

"Individual commitment to a group effort; that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work."

—Vince Lombardi

We offer a number of tutoring options for Puget Sound students to work with Tacoma students across the city.  Interested Puget Sound students are required to attend two tutor-training sessions and then are placed in classrooms or after-school tutoring programs working with youth from elementary through high school depending on their skill sets and preferences.  Puget Sound tutors are supported through monthly meetings where they are able to debrief their experiences, share stories, and problem solve together.  The collaboration with the students here at Puget Sound builds self-esteem and confidence, which empowers students to understand their courses that will help them achieve scholastically.   For protection and safety, all tutors are subject to a criminal background check.
