Winterfeast

The 25th annual Winterfeast was held in celebration of the CIAC's Kids Can Do! mentoring and ETC tutoring programs. Children from these programs came with their families to share this fun-filled night and a traditional holiday feast with their mentors or tutors.

ETC Tutoring

Individual commitment to a group effort; that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.

—Vince Lombardi

ETC Tutoring stands for Empowerment Through Collaboration. ETC Tutoring is an on-campus tutoring program that gives our students the opportunity to volunteer and interact with the Tacoma community. Tacoma residents from grades K-12 are tutored in any subject. All of the tutoring takes place at the University of Puget Sound campus, and children/parents must provide their own transportation. ETC Tutoring is completely free of charge because tutors participate on a volunteer basis.

ETC Tutoring provides students the atmosphere, space and attention they need to achieve the results they desire. The collaboration with the students here at Puget Sound builds self-esteem and confidence, which empowers students to understand their courses that will help them scholastically advance. For protection and safety, all ETC tutors are subject to a criminal background check.

For interested tutors: There is a minimum one hour per week commitment  with flexible hours. You may select what subject you’d like to tutor and the age group you feel most comfortable with.

If you are interested in tutoring, please download the Tutor Application and email the program coordinator at etc@pugetsound.edu to set up an appointment.
