Winterfeast

The 25th annual Winterfeast was held in celebration of the Center for Intercultural and Civic Engagement's mentoring program. Children involved with Kids Can Do! came with their families to share this fun-filled night and a traditional holiday feast with their mentors.

Puget Sound Tutoring

"Individual commitment to a group effort; that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work."

—Vince Lombardi

We offer a number of tutoring options for Puget Sound students to work with Tacoma students across the city. In the 2014-2015 academic year we partnered with four Tacoma schools ranging from elementary through secondary education.  In 2015-2016 we hope to add an additional high school to the offerings.  The Puget Sound Youth Programs team works hard to match you with the tutoring opportunity that best fits your passions and skills.  For Tacoma students, the collaboration with Puget Sound students builds self-esteem and confidence, and helps them achieve scholastically.   For protection and safety, all tutors are subject to a criminal background check.

Beginning in the fall of 2015, we are excited to be able to offer interested Puget Sound students a special tutor-training program and certificate through School's Out Washington if they complete all 10 workshops over a 2-year period.   Sign-up at Log Jam or contact our Youth Programs Team to learn more.
