History of the Center

The Center was established in 1996 following student petitions for an on-campus space that would encourage exploration of personal and group identity, informal gathering, and educational programming. The Center remains a largely student-governed endeavor, with support from the Associate Director for Student Services and the Division of Student Affairs. A Governing Council, comprised of leaders of the member organizations, and student coordinators oversee the Center's day-to-day operations and programs.
