Alcohol and/or Drug Use and Sexual Misconduct

Alcohol and/or drug-related sexual misconduct is, unfortunately, a common occurrence on all college campuses, including Puget Sound. We encourage students to educate themselves on the prevalence and dynamics of alcohol and/or drug related incidents of sexual assault in order to make informed decisions to prevent an incident of sexual misconduct from occurring.

A student who is a victim of sexual misconduct will not be charged with violating policies pertaining to alcohol and/or drug use during the time of the assault.

Additionally, the use of alcohol and/or drugs does not diminish the accused student’s responsibility to establish consent.
