The Mike Segawa Chapter of NRHH at Puget Sound
The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is the premiere honorary supported by the leading international organization advocating for the interests and welfare of residence hall students, while also providing opportunities for their personal growth and development. NRHH strives to provide recognition for individuals who have contributed to the advancement of college and university housing.
Established in the spring of 2012, the University of Puget Sound’s chapter is named after the current Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, Mike Segawa. Dean Segawa, or as he prefers students to address him – Mike – is a model of what NRHH on Puget Sound’s campus strives to be. His dedication to service in Student Affairs, and appreciation for the diversity of opportunities for leadership is a model for students and staff alike. With a background in housing and residence life, Mike understands the value of the residential experience in empowering student leaders, and providing a safe and inclusive home for students to sleep, study, and form life-long friendships.
NRHH at Puget Sound strives to recognize the students, staff, and faculty that create an enriching life outside the classroom. This life consists of creating lasting memories and friendships, as well as challenges and opportunities for growth which prepare students in the unfolding of creative and useful lives.
NRHH is comprised of the top 1% of student leaders on campus – with total membership capped at 20. Membership into NRHH is by application only, comprised of select students who have shown a commitment to service and recognition in residence.
Please contact the NRHH Advisor, Starre Helm, if you have any questions about joining, the application, or the details of membership.
