Thermodynamics plays an important role in the existence of all living things. We live within a narrow range of temperatures and in controlled environments, but, on an even deeper level, the laws of thermodynamics define the very parameters of what we can do and how we do it. Are these parameters roadblocks that impede us, challenges to overcome, or something else? This lecture will explore these and other questions we face as we contemplate the limits of the laws governing our physical world.
