Guest Lecture: "Vermeer's Hat," by Timothy Brook

Timothy Brook is the Republic of China Chair from Department of History and Institute of Asian Research at University of British Columbia. He will speak from his  book Vermeer’s Hat. This book explores globalization and the increasing dialogue between China and European powers in the 17th century. Brook uses Dutch Golden Age painter Johannes Vermeer to examine these ties.
