Summer Reunion Weekend Lures the Loggers Home, June 3–5

May 31, 2011

TACOMA, Wash. – Loggers hailing from around the country are heading back to their alma mater! Hundreds of University of Puget Sound alumni will converge on campus from Friday, June 3, to Sunday, June 5, to catch up with old friends and indulge in fun, food, reminiscing, and a little bit of learning at the college’s second annual Summer Reunion Weekend.

The success of the first summer reunion last year has inspired another smorgasbord of entertainment, dining, golf, outings, awards, and, best of all, the opportunity to see again the professors, fellow students, and staff members who made the Logger days all that they were. Alumni who choose to do so will be able to relive some of that past by sleeping in the residence halls, hitting hot spots on 6th Avenue, and grabbing a seat in class to hear professors address subjects on the theme of “Facts and Fictions About Health and Culture.”

“They had a blast,” summed up Director of Alumni and Parent Relations Allison Cannady-Smith, when asked about alumni at last summer’s reunion. “All I can really say is: They love this place.”

Loggers who graduated in classes ending in a “1” or “6” are this year’s featured reunion classes. All alumni are invited to attend Summer Reunion Weekend.

For the full schedule of events, see the links below. Walk-in registration is available beginning Thursday, June 2. Here are just some of the weekend’s highlights:

  • Golf scramble at Trophy Lake Golf Course
  • Alumni College classes by professors on “Facts and Fictions About Health and Culture”
  • 25th and 50th class year reunion receptions (1986 and 1961)
