CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico — The Logger basketball players are off to Cabo San Lucas, in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. They will train and play a few exhibition games before the start of the 2013-14 school year. Make sure to check back every day for updates from junior Jonathan Brown.
Here is Jonathan's first blog, written just before the Loggers took off for Cabo.
Hello everyone, my name is Jonathan Brown and I am a junior on the University of Puget Sound basketball team. I am an economics major and I will be keeping a daily blog for our team's foreign trip to Cabo San Lucas. I will be covering things such as team activities, funny stories, game summaries, etc.
The Puget Sound basketball team will be traveling to Cabo from August 4th- 14th. The goal of this trip is to not only win every game that we play, but to build team chemistry, and enjoy each others company as well. Most of the team arrived at school around the 24th of July, as we had our first practice on the 25th. Although we hadn't played with each other in a complete group since the end of the school year, the chemistry seemed to have never left.
The group as a whole had definitely been working on their individual skills all summer, and it showed immediately. Although the anticipation of the trip seemed to make certain days and practices go by with what seemed like forever, the group did a great job of staying focused, getting better, and preparing to play good basketball while abroad. We are all very excited, and very focused as we head to Cabo. Looking forward to filling you guys in as we go. Check in with you tomorrow.
