Welcome To Our Family
Dear Puget Sound Families,
Welcome to the University of Puget Sound campus community. Whether you are a first-time or continuing Puget Sound parent or family member, we invite you to join the faculty and staff in supporting the intellectual, social, and personal development of students while they are at the university.
At Puget Sound we strive to foster in our students a genuine sense of responsibility as they become independent learners and educated citizen leaders. We also strive to provide the individual contacts, living arrangements, celebrations, behavioral expectations, community service opportunities, and group activities that will help students develop a mature sense of self and a commitment to use their learning to improve the world around us.
In accord with the critical self-reflection that is at the heart of liberal arts education, we view student life and the campus climate as works in progress. All of us are ready to assist students and to help them learn how to use student services effectively. We welcome your ideas and suggestions about how we might create a better learning environment for your son or daughter.
We hope that you will take advantage of Puget Sound’s many resources available for parents. Consider becoming a member of the Puget Sound Parents Council, which is designed to engage you in campus and regional activities that enrich students’ college experience and foster lifelong relationships among fellow parents and with the university. For more information about the Parents Council, visit www.ups.edu/parents or call 800.339.3312.
Friendly staff members in the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations are available to help find answers to any questions you may have. Stop by the office on the first floor of Jones Hall or call 800.339.3312 for assistance. We look forward to building an enriching relationship with you.
Best wishes for the year ahead,
