Can you believe that it has been 60 years since your time at Puget Sound? No doubt the memories you cherish make it feel like it was just yesterday! 

Here are some highlights from 1955...

  •     The Disneyland Theme Park opens to the public in Anaheim, California.
  •     Rosa Parks is arrested for refusing to give up her seat on a bus to a white person, and the national civil     rights movement begins.
  •     The Soviet Union and seven East European countries sign the Warsaw Pact.
  •     The cost of a first-class stamp was $0.03.
  •     Brooklyn Dodgers won the World Series vs. NY Yankees (4-3).
  •     James Dean dies in a car accident at age 26.
  •     Owen Chamberlain and Emilio Segrè discover the antiproton, a form of antimatter.
