Welcome to my homepage. I teach courses in international political economy, Middle East politics, the illicit global economy, and global intellectual property. After receiving my PhD in political science from Columbia University in 1994, I taught for six years in Turkey and Egypt. I recently edited a special edition of Mediterranean Politics on Crime, Corruption, and the Shadow Economy in the Mediterranean (Summer 2007). I am currently editing with David Balaam the 5th edition of Introduction to International Political Economy.
