My freshman year at the University of Florida, I had not yet been informed what the numbers meant that were associated with each course. So, I signed up for a 4000-level Learning course, and the rest is history. I was hooked by the possibilities of a science of environment-behavior relations and have yet to be unhooked. Currently I am teaching Learning & Behavior (the Rat Lab) and Introductory Psychology. My research has spanned from exercise programs for super obese individuals to behavioral pharmacology with rats to self-control and altruism in both pigeons and New Yorkers.
