Kurt Walls

Kurt WallsKurt joined Puget Sound faculty in 1999. He is Chair of the Theatre Arts Department and the Director of Theatre Production. In addition to designing our faculty-directed plays, he teaches classes in technical theatre and scene design plus mentoring the Senior Theatre Festival. He most recently designed the scenery for Russell Davis’ The Wild Goose Circus which opened this past spring in the Norton Clapp Theatre and for the Seattle Men’s Chorus April performance in McCaw Hall at the Seattle Center featuring Frederica Von Stade. Additional designs in the Norton Clapp include Iphigenia at Aulis, Wilder One-Acts, Into the Woods, Henry V, Tartuffe, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Three Sisters. Addition designs for the Seattle Men’s Chorus include Clouds in my Eyes (the music of Elton John) at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Snowglobe at The 5th Avenue Theatre and Benaroya, ExtABBAganza (the music of ABBA) at Meany Theatre at the University of Washington, and Heart and Soul (Fabulous 50”s) at Benaroya. Prior to his position at UPS, Kurt was the General Manager of Pacific Studio, a design and fabricate firm that specialized in the entertainment and museum industries. After receiving his MFA in Scene Design and Stage Technology from the University of Washington, Kurt was the Assistant Technical Director at the Seattle Repertory Theatre.
