Wade Hands teaches economic theory, mathematical economics, history of economic thought, and philosophy of economics. He has published widely in the fields of the history of economic thought and economic methodology. His books include Reflection Without Rules: Economic Methodology and Contemporary Science Theory (Cambridge, 2001) and Introductory Mathematical Economics, 2nd edition (Oxford, 2004). His current research focuses on the history of consumer choice theory, particularly during the period 1930-50. He is a past president of the History of Economics Society and is currently co-editor of The Journal of Economic Methodology.
