Allen C. Jones earned his B.A. in American Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, his M.F.A. in poetry from the University of New Mexico, and his Ph.D. from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His primary areas of research are creative writing, digital textuality, and twentieth-century literature. He teaches a first-year composition course, Utopia and Dystopia, in which students construct multimedia utopias as creative critiques of society. In his literature courses, his students use virtual reality software to create new media approaches to the written text. By remediating classic texts in a “Cave” environment, students investigate the possibilities of reading in the twenty-first century. This year’s project is Raymond Queneau’s Exercises in Style.
